Terms and Conditions

Please note, it is the exporter's (owner's) responsibility to check the requirements of the importing country and to ensure that these details align with the information we provide on the certificate(s). Pet Travel Pass does not accept any liability for instances where the requirements are not met and the pet(s) is/are refused entry.  To check what is required for entry into difference countries, please contact APHA (the UK government department responsible for pet travel) on 0370 241 1710 or pettravel@apha.gov.uk and we advise checking the government website of the country you are travelling to for any additional requirements for example import permits or restrictions on certain breeds of animal.

Use of an Animal Health Certificate:

An Animal Health Certificate should only used for a pet that is travelling abroad for non-commercial reasons. It should not be used for taking a pet abroad for sale or to change ownership (even if no payment is taken). When you collect your Animal Health Certificate, you will be asked to sign to confirm that your pet is not changing ownership once they enter the EU. If the pet is travelling to the EU to change owner, an Export Health Certificate is required. Please contact 0370 241 1710 or pettravel@apha.gov.uk for more information.

Deposits:

A £50 deposit is required for all requests where the final total bill is £200 or over. This must be paid by bank transfer before we can start work on your certificate and covers our vets time in the event you not turning up to collect your certificate(s) or cancelling at short notice.

Short notice cancellations:

Where we receive a certificate request from a client who has previously either not turned up to collect a certificate or cancelled less than 1 week before the collection, we will require a £50 deposit to be paid before booking a new appointment. As all our certificates are made at least 1 week in advance, this deposit covers our vets time in the event that you cancel again at short notice.

Changes to your AHC or collection date:

If you need to make changes to your Animal Health Certificate (for example changing the country of entry into the EU or the collection date), this can be done free of charge up to 10 days before your collection date.

As a low cost Animal Health Certificate service, all our AHCs are prepared in advance. Any changes required less than ten days before your confirmed collection date will therefore incur a fee of £20 to cover the time required for our Official Veterinarian to remake, stamp and sign a new Animal Health Certificate.

Cancellations:

For cancellations at anytime prior to the seven days before the confirmed collection date, there is no charge.

As our Animal Health Certificates are made at least 7 days before your appointment, for cancellations less than 7 days prior to the confirmed collection date a 50% non-refundable cancellation charge will apply to cover the cost of making your AHC as well as the administration time spent organising your pet travel paperwork and Animal Health Certificate collection. This cancellation charge can be redeemed against future certificates.

Errors on the AHC as a result of mistakes you have made on the application form or mistakes made by your vet:

If upon collecting your AHC we realise there is an error resulting from a mistake you have made on the application form or a mistake your vet has made on the rabies vaccine evidence they have provided (e.g. they have written the wrong microchip number and you have copied this onto the application form) there will be a £50 charge to remake the certificate with the correct information. This is to cover the time required for our Official Veterinarian to remake, stamp and sign a new Animal Health Certificate in addition to the time required for a new collection appointment.
