OV66 authorisation means a UK government vet (known as an Official Veterinarian or OV) has been given permission to carry out official checks for pets travelling to Australia.
What's the point?
The OV66 export process reduces the Australian post-entry quarantine time from 30 days to 10 days. This is obviously a much nicer option for you and your pet and saves around £500 in quarantine fees.
What do I need to do?
To qualify for the reduced quarantine, a number of steps in the export process must be completed by OV66 vets rather than regular vets. Your pet will need to have two OV66 ID verifications carried out before their rabies blood test is taken. The rabies blood sample must be taken by an OV66 vet and the results of the blood test must then be verified by an independent OV66, who completes an RNATT declaration. How can we help?
As Pet Travel Pass are an independent OV66 service, we are ideally placed to carry out OV66 ID verifications and RNATT declarations.
We charge £90 for an ID verification for the first pet and £50 for each additional pet from the same household and £50 per pet for the RNATT declaration. All fees are payable by bank transfer.

To qualify for the reduced 10 day quarantine, your pets RNATT (rabies blood test) declaration must be completed by a different OV66 to the one who takes the blood sample. Pet Travel Pass are able to complete your pets RNATT declaration remotely as an APHA authorised OV66.
We charge £50 per pet which is payable by bank transfer and you will receive a scanned copy of the certified RNATT declaration which you can then use to apply for your pets Australian import permit.
To apply for an RNATT declaration please click below; we will send payment details once your application and associated paperwork has been checked and accepted
Please note, we are a mobile pet travel certification service based near Nottingham; we do not have a clinic or shop. Once we have received your application form we will contact you to arrange to meet up with you and your pet to scan your pets microchip and take a photo showing their distinguishing features and microchip number. Typically, this will be on a Thursday mornings or Saturday mornings.
In order for us to complete your pets ID verification, we need 2 pieces of paperwork:
Download our digital application form below. Please complete and return as a PDF. We do not accept handwritten application forms or screenshots/JPGs.
Please return the completed PDF application form and your microchip database evidence to OV66@pettravelpass.uk we will then contact you to arrange a time for our OV66 vet to check your pets microchip and take their photo.
